I wrote this story with my grandmother in mind, particularly thinking she always kept her head up despite losing two people she loved. She never seemed warm, someone I could grow close to, but I’ve always believed that the wall separating us was a given.
In this story, I tried to portray Grandpa and Grandma’s methods of grieving and coping with the loss of their sons for two reasons: For the sake of my uncle, who is slowly being forgotten, and for the sake of my lonely grandmother, unable to express her sorrow.
