Issue #48, hard to believe... Ian has been documenting the marks of countercultural radicals for quite a few years. The focus has moved and shifted through the life of the series, but this issue depicts graffiti in a particular time and place. It's a pretty crazy period of time in New York City, photographed by Bun Bunnerson during the lockdown of Spring 2021. The streets were crushed beyond normal, just like the inside panels of this zine.

Names are stacked in layers. Letters bend and twist, shout and assault the eyes. Some lines are smooth, others drippy, some fade out of reach, and a few shake with energy. Signs advertise Indian Buffets, All Nude Girls girlsgirls, Security Cameras and Automatic sprinklers. The city that never sleeps. Here's the proof.

A nice lil' interview with Bushwick mainstay, Jesus Saves, about where he's from and his views of spreading the gospel with spray paint.
