This study provides a reference to the men , the movements and the places of contemporary architecture and , not treated with architecture are design and town planing, both cognate aspects of the same subject so often restricted to the theoretical discussion of form, space and function. Compacted into A CHOICE OVER HEADS are the first historical outlines of architecture, design and town planning since 1830 and, secondly the reference guides to the main movements and ideas , to the important individuals, to showcase places and museums, and guide to the current literature . The outlines and reference point not to a speculative run -off of this problematic watershed , but to focused elements in its terrain that will allow us to choose where and what that run-off might be.
