The images in this zine weren’t designed or generated; they were found—brought to the surface in a sea of data. Every image, song, app, and webpage is comprised of 1s and 0s. Untold trillions of these binary digits or ‘bits’ make up our digital world. We never see them. Many people don’t even know they exist. But hidden within the static is something surprising. Every pixel on the pages of this zine visually represents a 1 or a 0 from a mundane file on an unremarkable computer. Together they code some tiny piece of information or a fragment of it. They were never meant to be seen, but now they are what you see in them.
