When They Breathe: Longtones in Conversations with Woodwind Specialists is sourced from my core musical inspiration and the luminary woodwind Artists who make up a lineage of crafts-folks, virtuosos, and thinkers actively contributing to the robust cannon of Black music. I aim to deviate from Euro-centric pedagogical frameworks by uplifting an ongoing generational conversation about the spiritual, musical, and socio-political realities of breathing as a Black human.
